Description

Summary We are seeking a driven Engineer / Materials Scientist to execute Supplier Change Notifications and provide technical support to active manufacturing areas. Working as a key individual contributor, you will evaluate supplier updates, interact directly with clients/customers to assess technical impact, and implement robust solutions within site systems with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate blends solid analytical capabilities and technical writing skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach to manage priorities and drive projects forward in a dynamic production environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage Supplier Change Notifications end-to-end within site systems.
  • Evaluate, track, and manage technical and operational impacts in direct collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide and occasionally lead technical support to manufacturing areas to identify and implement practical solutions.
  • Anticipate and interpret client and manufacturing needs to ensure smooth production continuity during supplier updates.
  • Prepare clear technical documentation, assessments, and status reports with strong attention to detail.
  • Work independently with minimal routine supervision while exercising sound technical judgment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to align on change control processes.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering or Materials Sciences required (Engineering degree strongly preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum of 1.5+ years of relevant industry experience in engineering, materials science, or manufacturing support.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing, analytical problem solving, and managing complex priorities.
  • Change control experience and project management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience within Merck systems and workflows is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Quality systems (Validation, Deviations, CAPA) and enterprise software platforms (e.g., Veeva Vault, SAP) is a plus.
