Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Scientist to join our analytical laboratory team for a 12-month assignment. In this hands-on, lab-based role, you will focus on analytical method development and routine testing using separation and biochemical techniques to support drug development. Operating in a fast-paced environment involving potent compounds, you will be responsible for precise data processing, scientific data review, instrument maintenance, and maintaining clear compliance documentation. This position is ideal for an adaptable, self-motivated chemistry professional who thrives both independently and as part of a collaborative team while meeting aggressive project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Perform analytical method development and routine laboratory testing using separation and biochemical methods.
- Execute advanced chromatographic and electrophoretic techniques, including HPLC/UPLC, CE, cIEF, and Simple Western.
- Process, analyze, review, and report scientific data, ensuring high accuracy and strict adherence to protocol.
- Prepare reagents, maintain electronic lab notebooks, and compile accurate experimental documentation.
- Conduct instrument maintenance, tracking, monitoring, troubleshooting, and minor equipment repairs.
- Utilize specialized laboratory software (such as Empower and 32 Karat) for data acquisition and system control.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant laboratory environment, especially when handling potent compounds.
- Deliver complex scientific objectives under aggressive timelines while collaborating effectively with cross-functional team members.
Education
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field (with 2+ years of experience).
- Master’s Degree (M.S.) in a related scientific field (with 5+ years of industry experience).
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in a related scientific field (with 7+ years of industry experience).
Experience
- Proven experience in the Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry with hands-on expertise in HPLC/UPLC (Reverse Phase, SEC, HIC, IEX) or Capillary Electrophoresis (CE).
- Strong background with small molecule API or drug product HPLC/UPLC is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with chromatography software such as Empower, 32 Karat, and standard Microsoft Office tools.
- Familiarity with advanced detection methods (MALS, DLS, Zeta Potential, RI, UV, FLD, CAD) is preferred.
