Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Scientist to join our dynamic analytical development team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving analytical method development and executing routine laboratory testing to support both large-molecule (biologic) and small-molecule programs. You will join a fast-paced, collaborative environment where attention to detail and a strong team-first attitude are paramount. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical chemist or biochemist looking to utilize advanced separation techniques and light scattering technologies to deliver complex scientific objectives under aggressive, cutting-edge timelines.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical method development and routine laboratory testing using advanced separation and biochemical methods.
  • Execute hands-on testing using HPLC/UPLC systems with a focus on Reverse Phase, SEC, HIC, and IEX techniques.
  • Conduct capillary electrophoresis (CE, cIEF) and Simple Western workflows to characterize large molecules, proteins, and mRNA.
  • Utilize specialized detection and characterization tools, including MALS/RI/UV, CAD, DLS, and Zeta Potential.
  • Manage data processing, perform thorough scientific data reviews, and accurately document results in electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Draft, prepare, and update essential scientific documentation and comprehensive technical reports.
  • Oversee routine instrument maintenance, monitoring, tracking, troubleshooting, and minor technical repairs.
  • Prepare laboratory reagents and maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt efficiently to a rapidly changing, fast-paced project environment.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and company policies.

Education

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • M.S. in a scientific discipline.
  • B.S. in a scientific discipline.

Experience

  • For Ph.D. holders: Minimum of 2 years of experience in analytical chemistry or a related field.
  • For M.S. holders: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • For B.S. holders: Minimum of 7 years of experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Required software proficiency in Empower, 32 Carat, or equivalent laboratory data systems, alongside Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proven track record of working independently as well as seamlessly within a multidisciplinary team.

Additional Information

  • Target Molecule Experience: Strong focus on large-molecule/biologic workflows (proteins, mRNA) with additional exposure to small molecules (lipids) preferred.
  • Logistics & Environment: Requires the physical ability to work hands-on in a laboratory setting, managing reagent preparation and technical instrumentation tracking daily.
  • Work Style: Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a proactive, positive attitude toward learning new techniques.
