Description

The Scientist II will play a key role in developing, executing, and optimizing cell-based assays and molecular biology techniques to support ongoing research. This is a hands-on, onsite laboratory role involving mammalian and iPSC-derived cell populations, automation platforms, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have strong wet lab experience, excellent record-keeping, and the ability to work independently while communicating effectively with stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:


Assist in developing, executing, and troubleshooting new cell-based assays, protocols, and analysis methods.
Establish and document SOPs using automation platforms (BRAVO/Apricot) to increase assay throughput.
Design and execute experiments, interpret data, and communicate results and findings clearly to teams and stakeholders.
Support the maintenance and characterization of iPSC-derived cell populations, including immunocytochemistry, plate-based assays (Quanterix, Luminex, MSD), qPCR, and other molecular biology techniques.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory activities.
Collaborate effectively across functional areas to achieve project goals.

Skills & Qualifications

 

Required:

 

  • BS degree in Molecular and Cell Biology or related disciplines (Immunology, Biological Engineering).
  • 1–2+ years of wet lab experience in academia or industry (recent graduates considered; industry experience preferred).
  • Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture using sterile techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform accurate data analysis and maintain meticulous notebook records.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including preparation of lab reports and presentations.
  • Extensive in vitro experience.
  • Ability to remain focused and on task without supervision.

 

Preferred:

 

  • Experience with automation platforms such as BRAVO or Apricot.
  • Familiarity with immunocytochemistry, plate-based assays (Quanterix, Luminex, MSD), qPCR, and related molecular biology techniques.

 

Education:


BS degree in Molecular and Cell Biology or related disciplines (Immunology, Biological Engineering) required.
1–2+ years of wet lab experience in academia or industry preferred; willing to consider recent graduates with strong academic backgrounds.
