Description

Summary
The Scientist I supports laboratory process development activities focused on downstream processing of vaccine process intermediates. This role is responsible for executing laboratory experiments, preparing reagents and solutions, performing purification activities, monitoring process performance, and documenting results in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). The ideal candidate is a motivated early-career scientist with strong laboratory fundamentals, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.


Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate process equipment for laboratory-scale experiments.
  • Prepare laboratory reagents, solutions, and media to support process development activities.
  • Perform laboratory-scale downstream processing of vaccine process intermediates.
  • Execute process monitoring assays and analyze test results.
  • Collect, organize, track, and report experimental data to client and project team members.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Document experimental work clearly and ensure testing is performed accurately and consistently.
  • Communicate results, observations, and project updates effectively to team members and stakeholders.
  • Work independently while supporting team objectives and project timelines.
  • Follow laboratory safety procedures, company policies, and established operating procedures.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Bio/Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.


Required

  • 0–3 years of relevant industry or laboratory experience.
  • Minimum of six months of laboratory experience, preferably supporting biologics purification processes.
  • Experience with general laboratory techniques and equipment, including pipetting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas and linked spreadsheets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Experience performing downstream processing or biologics purification activities.
  • Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) experience.
  • Conjugation Chemistry experience.
  • Membrane Ultrafiltration experience.
  • Experience supporting vaccine process development activities.
