This is a compelling opportunity to join the dynamic Value & Implementation Global Medical and Value Capabilities (V&I GMVC) team as a Medical Writer Contractor focused on Global Scientific and Value Content (GSVC), reporting directly to the GSVC Team Lead. The team is centrally responsible for creating high-quality, scientifically accurate external tools and resources—such as slide decks, Medical Information Letters (MILs), and Verbal Response Documents (VRDs)—to enable essential scientific exchange and respond to medical information inquiries from Field Medical and Global Medical Information Staff. This role is integral to supporting transformational initiatives in a fast-paced environment, requiring an innovative, independent professional with strong oncology content writing expertise to help shape how critical scientific information is communicated to external customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Global Scientific and Value Content (GSVC) resources, such as slide decks and Medical Information response documents, in alignment with annual plans for the Field Medical and Global Medical Information teams.
- Critically review GSVC materials to ensure scientific accuracy, relevance, and consistency with cited literature, internal information, and company compliance standards.
- Analyze and evaluate the display and presentation of scientific and therapeutic data used by internal stakeholders to respond to Medical Information Requests (MIRs).
- Drive innovative GSVC practices, supporting creative solutions for communicating scientific content through multiple formats, including digital media like infographics.
- Act as an advocate for evolving internal customer needs, particularly for Global Medical Scientific Affairs (GMSA) Field Medical and Global Medical Information (GMI) staff.
- Independently manage and prioritize specific tasks and responsibilities, ensuring timely completion and the production of high-quality deliverables.
- Partner and collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders across various functions, geographies, and therapy areas (especially Oncology).
- Propose and implement new innovations and technologies to enhance the organization and communication of scientific content for GMSA Field Medical and GMI staff.
Education
- Required: Bachelor’s degree or a Master's degree.
- Preferred: PharmD or PhD.
Experience
- Required: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in life sciences and process- and systems-related coordination.
- Preferred: Prior experience in Medical Affairs and/or medical content development.
- Experience partnering with diverse business stakeholders (cross-functional, global) to deliver compliant solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise high-level independent judgment, and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven expertise in medical content writing, medical affairs, or a medical writing background, with a specific focus on Oncology as a key therapeutic area (TA).
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Word.
Additional Information
- Assignment & Location: This is a 12-month contract assignment with the possibility of extension. Candidates must be available to work on a hybrid schedule (2-3 days/week) at either the Upper Gwynedd, PA, or Rahway, NJ work locations.
- Software Skills: Experience with Veeva Vault MedComms is a nice-to-have.
