Description
Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Laboratory Technician in the production of veterinary products. This entry-level role involves working in a lab-based environment with critical procedures related to cell culture and vaccine manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety and compliance, and an eagerness to work in a fast-paced, aseptic/clean room environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory procedures, including aseptic work, media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest, and vaccine filling.
- Maintain accurate and reliable record-keeping, including charts, logbooks, and all required documentation.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times.
- Clean work areas, prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware and equipment.
- Operate and set up lab equipment, including pH meters, UniFuge, and other instrumentation.
- Communicate any unusual and/or non-routine occurrences to supervisors.
- Handle hazardous materials, including Isopropyl Alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide, Phenolic Disinfectants, and Oxidizers.
- Work with embryonic eggs for virus propagation.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience with lab-based experience.
Experience
- Prior GMP experience required.
- Scientific background or experience preferred.
- Cell culturing experience is highly beneficial.
- Prior SAP experience is a plus.
- Experience with aseptic/clean room environments.
- Proficiency in using lab equipment such as pH meters and UniFuge.
- Ability to read and follow SOPs and adhere to aseptic behaviors.
Preferred:
- Vaccine knowledge.
- Effective writing, oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Additional Information
- Physical abilities test required before starting on-site.
- Position requires working in an aseptic/clean room environment.
- Shift: Four 10-hour workdays.
- On-site role with compliance to all safety and company policies.
