Description
Join a dedicated manufacturing team focused on the production of high-quality veterinary vaccines and products. As an entry-level Laboratory Technician, you will execute essential laboratory procedures and operate specialized technical equipment across all stages of the cell culture and manufacturing cycle. Working within a cGMP aseptic cleanroom environment, you will play a key role in media preparation, antigen propagation, equipment sterilization, and precise record-keeping to support animal health initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Execute critical cell culture and manufacturing processes, including tissue culture preparation, media preparation, antigen inoculation, viral propagation, and harvesting.
- Perform routine filling operations for vaccines, following strict aseptic behaviors in cleanroom environments.
- Maintain clean, safe, and compliant work areas by preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing glassware, equipment, and facility spaces.
- Set up, operate, and calibrate laboratory equipment such as pH meters, UniFuge systems, and component measurement devices.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records, including lab logbooks, batch records, charts, and associated cGMP documentation.
- Handle specialized biological processes, including the utilization of embryonic eggs for viral propagation.
- Safely handle and apply hazardous cleaning and disinfecting agents (e.g., Isopropyl Alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide, Phenolic Disinfectants, Oxidizers) per safety protocols.
- Promptly report and communicate non-routine occurrences, process anomalies, or equipment issues to leadership.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field; OR
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) with commensurate practical experience.
Experience
- Required: Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or regulated environment.
- Required: Practical experience utilizing SAP for inventory or operational tracking.
- Required: Experience or familiarity working in aseptic or cleanroom environments.
- Preferred: Laboratory-based experience, particularly in cell culture techniques or vaccine production.
- Preferred: Scientific background or familiarity with veterinary biologics.
- Preferred: Previous experience working compressed shift schedules (e.g., 4x10 hour day stretch).
Additional Information
- Shift Schedule: 4x10-hour day shift schedule.
- Pre-Employment Screening: Candidates must pass a Physical Abilities Test prior to starting on site.
- Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, strict adherence to SOPs, and effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
