Description
Join our Animal Health team in Millsboro, DE—a Biotechnology Center of Excellence dedicated to manufacturing, filling, packaging, and distributing high-quality animal vaccines. Operating with a "Safety First, Quality Always" mindset, our Manufacturing Operations group plays a vital role in local and global supply networks through diverse processes like cell culture, bioreactor production, and downstream processing. In this dynamic role, you will perform essential laboratory and production duties following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), working collaboratively to drive continuous improvement and ensure product quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform aseptic and non-aseptic procedures, including vaccine formulation, filling equipment setup, environmental monitoring, labeling, packaging, and handling poultry for tissue or waste harvest.
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware, equipment, and general work areas (floors, walls, tables) to maintain a compliant environment.
- Maintain rigorous concurrent record-keeping by completing charts, log books, and pertinent documentation, as well as entering technical data into required systems.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company policies, reporting all unusual or non-routine occurrences, and potentially managing hazardous waste labeling/accumulation (upon proper training).
- Assist with reviewing and developing SOPs and production records to ensure process accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Assist in training new team members, attending required training sessions and workshops, and monitoring/requisitioning laboratory supplies.
Education
- Minimum Requirement: High School diploma/GED with industry-related lab experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with industry or academic lab experience.
- Preferred: Educational background in Biology or Chemistry.
Experience
- Required: 1+ years of laboratory experience.
- Required: Ability to apply knowledge to complete tasks within set timeframes, recognize problems, and use existing procedures to assess solutions.
- Required: Basic mathematical calculation/conversion skills and strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: Aseptic cleanroom experience, general laboratory experience, and mechanical aptitude.
Additional Information
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to work standing for long periods of time.
- Schedule Flexibility: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet manufacturing demands, including overtime, holidays, and weekends.
- Shift Rotation: Shift hours rotate throughout the month between 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM), 2nd Shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), 3rd Shift (10:00 AM – 6:30 PM), and 4th Shift (12:00 PM – 8:30 PM). Workers will typically rotate across 2 different adjacent shifts each week.
