Description

Operating within an antigen production laboratory, this role is vital to executing aseptic processes, maintaining general housekeeping, and handling closed system processing. The successful candidate will work alongside a collaborative production team to ensure a safe, compliant, and highly efficient manufacturing environment. Following all company policies, safety protocols, and standard procedures, this position provides crucial manual and automated support throughout the entire manufacturing cycle.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with a variety of manufacturing equipment to complete processes throughout the product manufacturing cycle.
  • Assist with equipment setup, operation, general maintenance, and both manual and automated support functions.
  • Perform general housekeeping across all work areas and execute facility decontamination according to approved procedures.
  • Assist with aseptic procedures, including antigen inoculation and harvest, cell culture preparation, and harvest.
  • Assist with non-aseptic procedures, including the handling of live animal viruses during tissue and waste harvesting.
  • Execute accurate, concurrent record keeping by maintaining charts, logbooks, and all pertinent documentation.
  • Identify and address compliance, environmental, safety, and process deviations appropriately while notifying necessary personnel.
  • Maintain safe work habits at all times, comprehending and complying with all safety and company policies.
  • Assist in completing weekly reports as assigned and attend required training classes, workshops, or meetings to improve job skills.
  • Manage the accumulation, labeling, and management of hazardous wastes within the area (contingent on proper training prior to assignment).

Education

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or GED.

Experience

  • Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Preferred: Prior experience working within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
  • Required: Ability to operate manufacturing equipment (training will be provided).
  • Required: Strong attention to detail and robust documentation skills.
  • Required: General computer skills alongside foundational knowledge in reading and mathematics.
  • Core Competencies: Proven ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with other employees in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Information

  • Pre-employment Requirements: Successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test (POET) is required.
  • Schedule Flexibility: This position may require varying hours based on business needs, including a rotating shift and some weekends. Flexibility to work overtime is a requirement.
