Description

The Lab Technician I supports the antigen production laboratory by executing aseptic processes, maintaining clean and compliant work areas, and operating manufacturing equipment under supervision. This role is responsible for performing manual and automated lab operations, assisting with both aseptic and non-aseptic procedures, and ensuring accurate documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, follows established procedures, and maintains a commitment to safety and quality in all activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of manufacturing equipment throughout the production cycle, following all standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of lab and production equipment.
  • Perform manual and automated operations, including general maintenance and support functions.
  • Execute aseptic procedures such as antigen inoculation and harvest, and preparation and handling of cell cultures.
  • Perform non-aseptic procedures involving live animal virus during tissue and waste harvesting.
  • Maintain accurate, concurrent documentation in logbooks, charts, and electronic records.
  • Support housekeeping activities and execute facility decontamination according to approved procedures.
  • Identify and address compliance, environmental, safety, and process deviations; promptly notify appropriate personnel.
  • Handle hazardous waste accumulation, labeling, and management as trained and assigned.
  • Demonstrate consistent safe work habits and adherence to company policies and safety standards.
  • Participate in required training, workshops, and meetings to develop skills and ensure compliance with current procedures.
  • Contribute to weekly reports and other assigned tasks to support production operations.


Skills & Qualifications
Required:

Education: Minimum High School diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

  • Ability to operate manufacturing equipment with training.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Basic proficiency in reading, mathematics, and computer applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test (POET).

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a GMP-regulated or biotech production environment.


Education:

  • Minimum High School diploma or GED required.

Working Conditions

  • Schedule may vary based on business needs; rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime may be required.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed in a manufacturing environment.
  • Travel is not required for this position.
