Description

The Instrument Technician II supports calibration and maintenance activities for laboratory and production equipment in regulated environments. This role combines technical, administrative, and vendor coordination responsibilities, ensuring equipment is properly calibrated, documented, and compliant with operational requirements. The position offers strong growth potential for individuals interested in developing deeper expertise in calibration and instrumentation within laboratory, cleanroom, and utility environments.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform pipette calibrations and support P-1 and P-2 Calibration Technicians with equipment calibration activities.
  • Coordinate communication with third-party calibration vendors and service providers.
  • Track and maintain inventory of all third-party calibration equipment across departments.
  • Manage shipping and logistics for equipment sent to external vendors for calibration.
  • Maintain stock levels of consumables and gases required for calibration activities.
  • Perform field calibration work within laboratory, cleanroom, and utility environments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to calibration activities and equipment tracking.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure calibration schedules and requirements are met.


Education:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or related field.


Experience:

 

  • Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Ability to learn and utilize calibration or equipment management software.
  • Experience in GMP or industrial equipment environments preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to understand and work with instrumentation and equipment systems.
