Description

Merck is seeking an experienced Learning & Development Specialist to design, develop, and maintain engaging learning solutions that support site training objectives and regulatory requirements. This role will partner closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Quality, and business stakeholders to assess learning needs, develop effective training content, manage curriculum and Learning Management System (LMS) activities, and support continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated GxP environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in instructional design, performance consulting, eLearning development, curriculum management, and LMS administration, along with a strong understanding of regulated training practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in instructional design, technical writing, and facilitation.
  • Hands-on experience with:Articulate 360
  • Adobe Captivate
  • PowerPoint-based content development workflows
  • LMS publishing and packaging standards
  • Experience supporting Learning Management Systems (LMS), curriculum management, training assignments, and learning content deployment.
  • Experience in performance consulting, including assessing business needs, identifying performance gaps, and recommending effective learning solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience working in a GxP-regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of regulated training requirements, documentation practices, and compliance standards within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industries.

Required Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, certification, or equivalent work experience in a related field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain engaging instructor-led, digital, and eLearning training solutions that support adult learning principles and site training requirements.
  • Partner with SMEs, Quality teams, and business stakeholders to conduct performance consulting, assess learning needs, identify performance gaps, and recommend appropriate learning strategies.
  • Develop, update, and maintain high-quality eLearning content in accordance with site and global content standards.
  • Review and revise existing training materials and eLearning modules to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Support LMS and curriculum management activities, including:Learning assignment management
  • Curriculum updates
  • Content deployment
  • Training record maintenance
  • Apply GxP documentation practices, change control processes, version management, and content publishing standards to ensure training compliance and traceability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and continuously improve learning processes and systems.
  • Communicate project status, timelines, risks, dependencies, and changes to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure learning solutions are assigned and maintained in compliance with applicable global and local procedures, policies, and business requirements.
  • Support ongoing learning and development initiatives that contribute to organizational capability and performance improvement.
