Description
Position Description:
We are seeking an EHS Specialist III to join our team. This role is responsible for executing emergency response functions and ensuring site safety through fire prevention, HazMat response, rescue operations, and basic medical support. This position will serve as the Plant Fire Chief/Incident Commander in the absence of the Command Center Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in municipal fire protection and emergency services, and must be capable of performing assignments with limited supervision. This is a shift-based role that includes weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as Plant Fire Chief/Incident Commander in emergency situations when the Command Center Manager is not present
• Perform site security patrols and respond to security events, automatic alarms, and calls for assistance
• Execute fire suppression, HazMat response, confined space rescue, and emergency medical care duties
• Maintain familiarity with the site’s fire prevention systems, HazMat protocols, and utility systems (e.g., air, steam, high voltage)
• Conduct investigations and maintain thorough documentation, including reports, communications, and records related to incidents
• Support property conservation and ensure compliance with safety procedures and emergency response protocols
• Operate and maintain assigned emergency services vehicles and equipment
Skills & Qualifications
Educational Background:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid PA Driver’s License (CDL preferred)
• Pennsylvania Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (or equivalent)
Certifications and Training:
• PA State Firefighter I required; Firefighter II preferred
• NIMS Incident Command Training (minimum: ICS-100, ICS-700)
• PA State Fire Academy Hazmat Operations (Technician preferred)
• Confined Space Rescue Training, Pro Board Certification preferred
• CPR and First Aid (EMT certification preferred)
• Familiarity with suppression systems and industrial utility systems
Experience Requirements:
• Fire protection experience within the past 8 years, including 5 years of active volunteer or paid municipal fire service, preferably at the Chief Officer level
Preferred Experience:
• FM property conservation knowledge
• OSHA training in General Industry and/or Construction
Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Schedule:
– 4 Days: 5:30 AM – 5:30 PM → 7 Days Off
– 4 Nights: 5:30 PM – 5:30 AM → 3 Days Off
– 3 Days: 5:30 AM – 5:30 PM → 1 Day Off
– 3 Nights: 5:30 PM – 5:30 AM → 3 Days Off
– Cycle repeats; includes weekends and holidays
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
• Driving a Chevy work vehicle
