Description
- Preferably located at the West Point, PA site.
- Candidates local to Rahway, NJ may be considered based on candidate qualification.
Join our team as an entry-level Analytical Scientist, where you will support the testing and development of pharmaceutical drug products. Working under the guidance of senior staff, you will bridge the gap between academic theory and industry practice by performing both GMP and non-GMP analytical testing. This role is ideal for a motivated graduate with a strong scientific background who is eager to learn professional laboratory standards, data integrity, and complex analytical techniques in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform GMP and non-GMP analytical testing on pharmaceutical drug products under senior supervision.
- Support activities related to method development, optimization, and validation.
- Accurately document all experimental work in electronic laboratory notebooks while adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of technical reports and documentation.
- Adhere strictly to laboratory safety, quality, and compliance procedures.
- Support specialized work with Beta-Lactam and OEB 4–5 compounds following appropriate safety training.
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently with guidance and maintain strong time management.
- Communicate effectively within a team-oriented environment to meet project goals.
Education
- BS or MS in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
Experience
- No prior pharmaceutical industry experience is required.
- Academic laboratory experience, internships, or undergraduate/graduate research may substitute for industry experience.
- Academic or internship exposure to HPLC, GC, dissolution testing, or Karl Fischer titration.
- Preferred: Familiarity with chromatography data systems like Empower or ChemStation.
- Preferred: Introductory knowledge of GMP concepts gained through coursework or training.
- Chemistry training and experience as a pharma intern in an analytical lab would be ideal.
Additional Information
- Beta lactam screening required
- Technical Skills: Requires a fundamental understanding of scientific principles and the ability to follow SOPs.
- Digital Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; experience with Empower is preferred.
