Description
Summary:
We are currently seeking a Chemist II to support analytical activities within the Analytical Sciences department. This position plays a critical role in performing chromatographic analyses, supporting method validation, and contributing to both release and stability testing of pharmaceutical products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UPLC/HPLC techniques, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. The role offers opportunities for scientific mentorship and involvement in the development of new analytical methods and technologies.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct release and stability testing of drug products following SOPs and cGMP guidelines
• Plan and execute analytical method validations
• Troubleshoot and maintain chromatographic instrumentation
• Perform chromatographic analyses using UPLC and HPLC techniques
• Document results accurately in ELN and RLIMS and perform second chemist reviews
• Author analytical reports and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed
• Provide analytical support for development projects and research activities
• Solve complex technical problems with guidance from senior scientists
• Adapt or develop analytical methods as required
• Collaborate within a team environment and receive scientific mentorship
Education
• BS degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, or equivalent with 2–5 years of experience
• MS degree in a related field with 1–2 years of experience
Experience
Required:
• Hands-on experience with UPLC and HPLC chromatographic techniques
• Familiarity with cGMP analytical testing and standard operating procedures
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects concurrently
• Team-oriented with a self-motivated and adaptable work style
Preferred:
• Experience with Empower chromatographic software
• Familiarity with oral solid dosage forms
• Experience with dissolution, Karl Fischer titration, and water activity testing
Additional Information:
• Full-time, temporary (through 2/9/2026) position
• Most tasks will be non-GMP, but a strong understanding of GMP environments is essential
• Position offers mentorship from a scientific supervisor
• Must carry out assignments to meet standards of innovation, accuracy, efficiency, and safety in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
