Description

The Cell Pharmacology group is seeking a highly motivated Scientist with a background in biology research and drug discovery. The primary focus of this role is the design and implementation of various in vitro cellular assays, alongside the execution of high-throughput compound and biologics screens to support internal drug discovery programs. The ideal candidate will thrive both independently and collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assay Design & Implementation: Independently design and execute various cellular in vitro assays utilizing a wide range of methodologies.
  • Screening Execution: Run semi- and fully automated high-throughput compound and biologics screens to support internal drug discovery programs.
  • Experimental Strategy: Develop and execute strategies to define biomarkers, mechanisms of action, and resistance profiles for therapeutic agents of interest.
  • Documentation & Insights: Properly document and report experimental findings, providing valuable scientific contributions to research projects across multiple disease areas.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with departmental colleagues and cross-functional teams to support research projects at various stages of development.
  • Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.): Minimum of 3 years of experience, OR
  • Master’s Degree (M.S.): Minimum of 1 year of experience.

Core Experience

  • Extensive job-related laboratory research experience and medium-to-high throughput assay execution in an academic or industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in cell culture, passaging, and harvesting is required.
  • Solid data analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency with standard scientific data analysis software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Preferred Skills (A Plus)

  • Hands-on assay development and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with a variety of high-throughput screening formats.
