Description

We are seeking a dedicated Analytical Scientist to join our team, focusing on the testing and analysis of small molecule formulation development samples and related therapeutic modalities. Operating 100% on-site, this role is centered on running separation techniques—primarily HPLC/UPLC systems—as well as collecting data, processing results, and troubleshooting analytical instruments. If you possess a solid foundation in analytical chemistry, experience with industry-standard chromatographic software, and strong attention to detail in laboratory environments, this position offers an ideal environment to apply and expand your technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Sample Analysis: Perform routine and specialized testing of analytical samples, including small molecule formulation development samples and other therapeutic modalities.
  • Chromatography & Instrumentation: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot separation systems, with a focus on Liquid Chromatography (HPLC / UPLC) and spectroscopic tools.
  • Data Processing & Documentation: Process analytical results and maintain accurate records using Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN), strictly adhering to established methods, protocols, and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Sample & Data Management: Execute end-to-end sample tracking and data management in accordance with laboratory best practices.
  • Reagent & Solution Preparation: Prepare accurate reagents, dilutions, solutions, buffers, and mobile phases for testing workflows.
  • Lab Safety & Compliance: Follow all established safety, hygiene, and environmental protocols within the laboratory environment.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR a Master’s (MS) / Doctorate (PhD) with 1+ year of relevant experience in analytical chemistry or a small molecule testing laboratory setting.

Experience

  • Hands-on separation experience for small molecules, specifically using Liquid Chromatography (HPLC / UPLC) techniques such as Reverse Phase (RP), Size Exclusion (SEC), Ion Exchange (IEX/AEX/CEX), or Hydrophobic Interaction (HIC).
  • Experience utilizing spectroscopic techniques (e.g., UV, Mass Spectrometry).
  • Experience with analytical chromatography software such as Empower, ChemStation, or OpenLab.
  • Preferred: Industry experience in a commercial or pharmaceutical testing environment.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with ACD/Labs tools (e.g., LC-SIM) or basic computer coding languages.

Additional Information

  • Work Location: 100% On-site role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams).
  • Key Attributes: Strong expertise in analytical chemistry, proficiency in running and screening samples, meticulous documentation skills, and a proactive approach to instrument troubleshooting.
